Bhumeshwori is located just off the Kathmandu-Helambu road and the Melamchi river, at around 1300m, and is populated mainly by people from Brahman (Bahun) and Chhetri communities. The village has around 40 houses with a total of around 200 families but the school’s catchment area is widely spread out to numerous neighbouring villages.

Shree Bumeshwori Higher Secondary School was established in ________________ and is located close to the centre of the village. The school runs grade 1 to grade 10 along with Nursery runs during the day and grade 11 and 12 in the early morning. The school has 15 teachers to support around 390 children from the village and other nearby villages that only have primary schools. The children use English textbooks but are usually instructed in Nepali. Most children leave the school after they complete their SLC in pursuit of better education, mostly to Kathmandu or seek work abroad.

Shree Bhumeshwori is a resource centre for the schools of 3 VDCs that HELP has been working with. The resource centre has a Resource Person, appointed by the government to facilitate government trainings and meetings and co-ordinate between the local schools and the government. HELP started working with the school in 2012 AD, soon after the school participated in the 1^st Himalayan Olympics.
