From Receiving SchoolBag to Developing Software

From Receiving SchoolBag to Developing Software

Originally from Bhotenamlang, I was first introduced to HELP in 2016, when I was studying in Grade 6. That year, the devastating earthquake had destroyed my school, and like many students, I was struggling with limited resources. At the time, HELP supported us with something seemingly small but deeply meaningful - my very first school bag.
Before that, I recall walking to school each day carrying a borrowed bag from my elder sister. Receiving my own school bag made me feel personally recognised and valued. More importantly, it inspired me to continue my education with renewed confidence, knowing that there were people willing to invest in my future.

After completing my schooling in Bhotenamlang, I moved to Kathmandu to pursue a Diploma in Computer Engineering. I later applied for and was awarded a HELP Scholarship. As I also had received support from other sources, I had used a part of HELP’s scholarship to purchase a bicycle for NPR 6,000, which I relied on to travel nearly 12 kilometres every day to attend college.

Today, I’m a third-year Bachelor’s student in Information Technology at King’s College, where I am studying under a merit-based scholarship. Alongside my studies, I work part-time as a Software Developer at Triad International Pvt. Ltd., a growing IT startup in Nepal. Looking ahead, I aspire to pursue an MBA or a related qualification in the future and contribute to helping Nepali businesses grow and compete in the digital world.
